Welcome to the Children’s Ministry at Pleasant View Baptist Church.
We have opportunities for all ages of children, from newborns to 5th grade. We love children and families. Our focus is on teaching children the importance of following Jesus, through Bible study and interactive activities. In everything we ensure the focus remains on Jesus and His truth. We desire to equip families to grow together in and through Christ.
PVBC Children FAQ
-
At PVBC, your child will learn how to know the Heart of God: He tells us! For Sunday school we walk through books of the Bible with age appropriate application. For Children's Church we do an in-depth study of a single Bible story every month to provide different insights into the meaning of the story. Additionally, the repetition allows children to retain the information about the Bible story. Finally, for Wednesday evening we walk through HeartShapers, which works through the Bible over the course of two-years through Bible stories and interactive activities.
Through the examples set by our volunteers, children will learn how to reflect Christ in their lives. Our volunteers are dedicated to setting the best example possible in teach the children the gospel, and demonstrate how they apply it in their lives. Having good examples to follow allows children to truly understand the meaning behind the Bible stories.

To ensure the safety of every child our volunteers go through extensive training and routine background checks. Additionally, we have a check-in/check-out procedure to guarantee each child is accounted for and picked up only by an approved adult. To understand the check-in system more, please see the applicable question in the FAQ section. The church also has a prepared security team with at least one member patrolling the basement where our classrooms are.
All classrooms have first-aid kits in case of emergency situations and have emergency evacuation plans in place. Finally, all allergies are to be reported at child check-in to ensure there is no allergy contamination.

For your child’s safety, we are have a check-in/check-out process that we follow for each program and event. All families with children 5th grade and under check-in at our check-in desk before classes or service located in the basement of the main building for Sunday morning and at the entrance of the gym for Wednesday evening activities.
Our volunteers will gather the child’s name and parent’s or guardian’s name, on-going medical conditions, the names of anyone allowed to check the child(ren) out, and contact information. Children will receive a name tag with a specific code. Parents or guardians will receive a matching code that is to be shown at the child’s classroom to check out the child. If the code is lost, the adult will need to show their driver’s license or other ID.
